Everton have begun their season by claiming four points from their first three Premier League matches.

Nicholas has been very down about Everton’s chances this term.
The pundit initially criticised Marco Silva’s side’s defence, and then he suggested that they were going to be a poor watch last week.
Now, in the build up to the weekend, Nicholas has suggested that he thinks Everton will lose to Wolverhampton Wanderers as he saw nothing from them against Aston Villa.
“What is Everton’s shape? They had to tidy the defence up – they needed to. You saw them last week and thought, what is the belief in this team,” he said.
“I did not see anything that told me this team would threaten the top six. I did not see this materialise.”
Of course, if Everton were to be judged solely on their performance in a 2-0 defeat to Villa then it would be fair to reason that they don’t look top six candidates.
But Nicholas may well find that he has jumped the gun completely, as Everton are only finding their way in the campaign.
Marco Silva has been very cautious with Everton’s new signings, and judging them for having ‘no spark’ before they have even introduced their new boys seems completely misguided.

Everton are going to be a much stronger team when Moise Kean, Alex Iwobi and Fabian Delph are all included in their starting line-up.
It is also worth noting that, other than Liverpool and Manchester City, every team in the Premier League has looked fallible in the early part of the season.
And Nicholas may well find that he has been too hasty with his criticism of Everton, as it is still far too early to be writing off their top six chances.
