The Sky Sports pundit was previewing Wolverhampton Wanderers as they prepare for their upcoming Europa League game.
Charlie Nicholas has given his thoughts on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ upcoming Europa League clash away at Besiktas on Thursday night as well as commenting on Nuno Espirito Santo’s previous claims that some of his players are getting tired (Sky Sports News).
Wolves have struggled to find their feet this season, having only claimed their first Premier League win last weekend in the 2-0 defeat of Watford, while their Europa League group campaign began on a low note as Braga claimed all three points at Molineux last month.
Nuno has previously spoken of his players getting tired, such as ahead of the Leicester City season opener (Leicester Mercury) and after the Burnley game (Wolves website), and given how their season began early due to the Europa League qualifiers and some players, like Raul Jimenez, having played so many games this calendar year, it seems reasonable enough.
Nicholas, however, said he does not “get the tiredness thing” and wondered why the Wolves boss was not making more use of some of his younger players, like Morgan Gibbs-White.
“Wolves managed to get their first win of the Premier League season at the weekend,” Nicholas wrote on Sky Sports News. “Nuno Espirito Santo was saying that some of their players are getting tired. I do not get the tiredness thing
“I know he doesn’t like to chop and change but Wolves have added three or four players yet we haven’t seen much of them. We haven’t seen much of Morgan Gibbs-White and other young players either. It seems as though it was back to normal with the clean sheet against Watford but Besiktas will be dangerous and they could well be too much for Wolves at home here.”
