Everton midfielder Tom Davies has played just once in the Premier League this season.

Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that he wants to know what has happened to Everton midfielder Tom Davies.

Davies has struggled for game time so far this season, with the 21-year-old making just one substitute appearance in the Premier League.

The Everton youngster has often been overlooked in favour of other options.

And Nicholas wants to know why Silva has been so reluctant to use Davies this term.

“What is Silva’s goal? If they concede first, what are they going to do,” Nicholas said.

“And what happened to Tom Davies? He is on the bench but isn’t close to the first team.”

Davies actually did play for Everton against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, as Silva’s side won 2-0 at Hillsborough.

The England youth international wasn’t at his very best in the contest, but the victory must have given Silva some food for thought.

Everton have been poor in the Premier League, but they looked much more defensively stable against Wednesday, even if they were playing against a team from a lower league.

The Toffees’ next match comes against Manchester City tomorrow, and it remains to be seen whether Davies will be handed his first start in the Premier League this term.
