Celtic are looking for new signings to kickstart their rebuild this summer, and Charlie Nicholas has recommended a move for Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher.
The Bhoys have brought in Ange Postecoglou as their new manager and must now back the Australian with new signings.
A host of players are now being linked with Celtic, with their transfer business now expected to ramp up in the coming weeks.
Nicholas recommends deal for Liverpool’s Kelleher
Former Celtic man Charlie Nicholas has recommended a host of players in the Scottish Daily Express (29/06, p57), with Liverpool ace Kelleher one of them.
“Caoimhin Kelleher has already played in the Liverpool first team, he is another one. My mate Phil Thompson rates him highly and he’s another who wouldn’t be overly expensive,” said Nicholas.
It’s surprising that Nicholas things Kelleher wouldn’t be too expensive given that he only signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool just five days ago.
The 22-year-old impressed in the Liverpool first team last season, so it’s no surprise that Reds legend Phil Thompson likes him – and maybe Celtic will too.

Do Celtic need another goalkeeper?
In an ideal world, Celtic would be able to bring in another stopper given that Vasilis Barkas failed to impress in his first season at the club.
Scott Bain and Conor Hazard haven’t been able to nail down the role either, and Kelleher has shown the potential to fill that role.
Maybe a loan move to Celtic could work out given that Adrian is staying at Liverpool, but a permanent move seems out of reach.
