Rangers brought goalkeeper Allan McGregor back to Ibrox this past summer.

Charlie Nicholas answers questions during the Gillette Soccer Saturday Live with Jeff Stelling on March 19, 2012 at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.

Pundit Charlie Nicholas has told the Scottish Daily Express (30/10; page 52) that he thinks Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is actively looking for trouble.

The Gers lost 1-0 to Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup semi-finals on Sunday, with Lewis Ferguson pouncing for a late winner for the Dons after Rangers provided no cutting edge in the final third.

Rangers therefore won’t win the first silverware of the season in Scotland, and the behaviour of Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been called into question once again.

Earlier this season, McGregor was involved in a scuffle with Motherwell defender Peter Hartley after landing on top of the centre back, sparking an altercation.

Then, the summer signing from Hull City was involved in another scrap, as he was seen kicking Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer – but no action was taken for either incident.

On Sunday, McGregor was seen elbowing Aberdeen winger Gary Mackay-Steven, and again escaped any punishment as pundits and fans questioned just when he will be penalised for such actions.

Now, pundit Nicholas – a former Celtic forward – has blasted 36-year-old McGregor, suggesting that the Gers veteran won’t even care if he finally is banned for his ‘dodgy’ incidents, as he ‘wants to mess with people’, and predicted he will be up to his usual antics when Rangers next play Celtic.

“How many more dodgy incidents is Rangers keeper Allan McGregor going to get away with?” said Nicholas. “Gary Mackay-Steven was hardly hurt by McGregor’s elbow in the Betfred Cup semi, but the intent was there.”

“McGregor has previous after getting involved with Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer and Peter Hartley of Motherwell. On each occasion he escaped punishment. Even if he does eventually get banned, I don’t think he will care. He wants to mess with people and he’ll be at it again in the next Old Firm derby,” he added.
