Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic’s side beat Anderlecht 3-0 in Champions League action in midweek.

Celtic were off the pace in Belgium, according to Nicholas, over the opening 45 minutes, but they were not punished by Anderlecht.
And Rodgers’ side certainly made the hosts pay, as they scored three goals to go on to take the three points.
Celtic found goals through Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair to secure a crucial victory.

And Nicholas believes that the Bhoys will all be delighted with the result, even if their performance wasn’t the best.
“After five years waiting for a clean sheet and an away win they were both more than welcome,” Nicholas said. “I wasn’t impressed with the performance but definitely the result.

“I am sure Brendan Rodgers will be wondering how his side played so poorly in the first half-hour yet still came out on top.”
Celtic’s victory over Anderlecht has lifted them into a commanding position in their Champions League group.
If Celtic can avoid defeat against Anderlecht in front of their own fans, then they are highly likely to be playing in the Europa League knockout stages, which would represent progress for Rodgers’ men.
