Charlie Nicholas says Scott Sinclair could be the difference today

Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will face Motherwell in the final of the Scottish League Cup this afternoon.

Charlie Nicholas has suggested in The Express that Celtic winger Scott Sinclair will be a key player during this afternoon’s Scottish League Cup final against Motherwell.

Celtic will take on Scottish Premiership rivals Motherwell in the final of the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow in a few hours’ time.

Sinclair, who did not start in the Bhoys’ Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain in Paris in midweek, is likely to feature against Stephen Robinson’s side.

The former Aston Villa winger is not in great form at the moment, but the 28-year-old is a good player with a lot of quality.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City attacker has proved himself in the Scottish Premiership, and ex-Celtic forward Nicholas believes that Sinclair will be a key figure in this afternoon’s match.

“Motherwell are getting Celtic at a good time, because apart from their performance at Pittodrie they haven’t hit top form this season,” Nicholas wrote in The Express. “Maybe new additions are required to elevate them again.

“Scott Sinclair did that last season and he could be the difference in the final. He is a player for the big occasion and has the ability to produce a bit of magic, and he’ll be fresh having not played in Paris.”

Celtic have the strongest team in Scotland, and the Glasgow giants will head into this afternoon’s Scottish League Cup final against Motherwell as favourites.
