Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side take on Graeme Murty’s Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Ex-Celtic star Charlie Nicholas urged Brendan Rodgers to start Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard for their huge Scottish Cup clash with Rangers at Hampden Park on Sunday, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.

The Hoops are on course to win their second consecutive treble, and the Gers will be desperate to stop their bitter rivals from doing just that.

Rodgers’ side currently sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, 13 points clear of Graeme Murty’s men in second place.

Sunday’s game should be a fairly even contest, however, with both sides looking to reach the final of the competition.

Nicholas, who scored 85 league goals for Celtic over the course of two separate spells with the club, offered some advice to Rodgers with regards to his team selection for Sunday’s huge cup clash with Rangers, as quoted by the Scottish Herald:

“People are suggesting that Griffiths might play. That might be the big issue. If I’m picking the team, then Moussa Dembele and [Odsonne] Edouard up front, if he’s fit, would be the partnership for me. Rangers still have the same weaknesses at the back.”

Rangers have not beaten Celtic over 90 minutes since 2012, with the Hoops chalking up nine wins and three draws since then.

Old Firm Derbies are notoriously tough to call, however, and with so much riding on Sunday’s game, it really could go either way.
