Speaking on the Where’s Jeff? Podcast, Charlie Nicholas has been speaking about West Ham United and Jarrod Bowen.
The winger has been exceptional for the Hammers since joining from Hull City in January 2020, but Nicholas has been less than impressed by what he’s seen from the 24-year-old so far this term.
Indeed, the pundit says he expects more from the winger after a slow start to the campaign.
What’s been said?
Nicholas gave his view on Bowen ahead of the Hammers’ game against Manchester United.
“I’ve been a little bit disappointed in Bowen this season so far, I thought he’d done really really well at West Ham so far since he got there, but I’ve not really seen him being much of an influence so far. They need more from the midfield, but overall I would expect Manchester United to probably win this, but it’ll be tight.

Slow start
Nicholas is right about Bowen starting slowly, but he hasn’t been terrible by any means.
We’ve grown accustomed to the winger being a real goal threat, but while he’s not finding the back of the net at the moment, he’s still working as hard as ever and he’s helped the London club have a great start to this season.
Luckily, Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio have picked up the brunt of the goalscoring load, but if Bowen starts scoring again, West Ham will undoubtedly have one of the scariest front lines in the Premier League.
