Former Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that he was delighted by the Gunners draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsene Wenger’s side travelled to Paris on Tuesday evening looking to start their Champions League campaign with a win.
Things did not get off to a good start for them though as Edinson Cavani headed the French champions into the lead within 42 seconds.
The Gunners eventually sealed a draw late on as Alexis Sanchez struck late on to ensure a share of the points.

In truth they were lucky as Cavani missed a number of chances throughout the game to put the result beyond doubt and because of that, Nicholas has admitted he was delighted with the 1-1 draw.
“PSG are no way as fluid as they have been over the last few years but Arsenal made them look better than they were,” he told Sky Sports.
“Arsenal could have ended up winning it but I’m delighted with a draw because Arsenal did not play well at all. They’ve got away with it tonight but they must liven up and play their best players.”

On reflection, a draw in Paris may actually turn out to be a very good result for Arsenal.
It means that their future in Group A is very much in their own hands, with them knowing a positive result against PSG at the Emirates should seal first place for them.
The Gunners have made life difficult for themselves in the competition before now, though, and it would be unwise for their fans to get too excited just yet.
