Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that West Ham United will get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Former Arsenal forward Nicholas has predicted that the Hammers will finish in the bottom three of the Premier League this campaign.

The former Scotland international has also predicted West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield Town to go down.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “I agree that West Brom have gone, not many would argue with that right now.

“Then, given I’m going for Crystal Palace to beat them this weekend, my next team is Huddersfield.

“Finally, after the embarrassing scenes last weekend, West Ham are my third side to face the drop.

“The atmosphere at that club is toxic right now and it is going to be very difficult to turn that around before the end of the season.”

Relegation unthinkable for West Ham United

When West Ham left the Boleyn Ground for the London Stadium in the summer of 2016, no one could have predicted that the club would be fighting for survival in the Premier League now.

The Hammers enjoyed a strong 2015-16 season in the Premier League and were expected to push on.

However, the London outfit have struggled for the past two or so seasons, with the team failing to perform to their best at their new home, the London Stadium.

Playing in the Championship next season would be unthinkable for West Ham, but it does look quite likely at the moment.

As for Huddersfield and West Brom, while the former should manage to stay up, it would take a miracle for the Baggies to retain their Premier League status for the 2018-19 campaign.
