Tottenham Hotspur will face AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup clash on Sunday.
Over the years, FA Cup has witnessed some great upsets where big Premier League teams have been unexpectedly beaten by teams from lower leagues.
When AFC Wimbledon will travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in the FA Cup, they will need a miraculous performance to beat or even earn a draw against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Spurs are battling for a top four finish in the Premier League, while their opponents on Sunday are a struggling League One side fighting for survival.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas says that it is “one hell of a bridge to gap” for a side that are sitting uncomfortably just above the relegation zone.
Pochettino is expected to make several changes and the Argentine is likely to give chances to young and fringe players in the squad. But they would still put out a solid starting XI and are expected to win the match comfortably.
Spurs are on a four game unbeaten run in the Premier League (three wins) and Nicholas expects them to win by a 5-0 margin.
“One of Tottenham’s biggest problems this season is opposition sides raising their levels for the trip to Wembley but, while it will be a great away day for the fans, it is one hell of a bridge to gap for a side sitting just outside the Sky Bet League One relegation places,” said Nicholas to Sky Sports.
“Mauricio Pochettino will make changes but has options to do so with several players coming back from injuries and they’ve certainly had their critics for the way they crashed out of the Carabao Cup, so I can’t see anything other than an emphatic home win here.”
