Wolverhampton Wanderers will face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the FA Cup third-round tie on Wednesday evening.
The former Celtic and Arsenal forward has backed Premier League club Swansea to win the tie 2-0 against Championship side Wolves.
Nicholas has also predicted Chelsea-owned Swansea striker Tammy Abraham to score the opening goal of the game.
“I thought this was going to be the tie of the round and that Wolves would have seen them off,” Nicholas wrote on Skysports.com. “They’ve gone into a bit of awkwardness with scoring goals.
“I covered Swansea at the weekend and they weren’t bad. We all know about their issues scoring goals, but Ki Sung-yueng was good in midfield and it tells the story that Ollie McBurnie is keeping Wilfried Bony and Tammy Abraham out of the team.
“There was enough to suggest they are improving and I’m going for them to see Wolves off, with Carlos Carvalhal motivated by having a crack at the FA Cup.”
A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: 2-0 and Abraham to score first.”
Swansea are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Swans, though, have shown some encouraging signs in recent weeks under new manager Carlos Carvalhal, and the Welsh outfit will fancy their chances against Wolves.
The Wanderers are going strong in the Championship and look set to win the league title this season.
Nuno’s side, who appear set to win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, will be determined to shock Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
