Ahead of Scotland’s crucial World Cup qualifier clash with England, Charlie Nicholas said that the fixture is a must-win game for the hosts.

He stated that, Scotland do not have players in significant positions to hurt England. The Sky Sports pundit predicts a 3-1 win for the Three Lions, and tips Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli to score the first goal of the match.

Nicholas said that Scotland should be worried about the partnership of Alli and Harry Kane. They have struck up a tremendous partnership at the club level, and could replicate that at the international arena.

He claimed the duo to be capable of making space against any backline shape, and that is the reason that makes them dangerous to defend against.

“The partnership of Dele Alli and Harry Kane is the one that really worries me. These guys have struck up a tremendous partnership and they are clever enough to create space against any backline shape,” said Nicholas to Sky Sports.

Both Kane and Alli have enjoyed a spectacular 2016/17 campaign with Tottenham, with Kane ending the season by becoming the top scorer in the league.

Alli has scored 18 Premier League goals and provided seven assists for the Spurs, and picked up the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The duo enjoys a telepathic understanding on the pitch, and England will benefit if Alli is given free reign, (where he is at his best) behind Kane.
