Leeds United striker Chris Wood currently sits at the top of the Championship scoring charts.
Charlie Nicholas has told the Premier League Daily Show, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 8th March, that Chris Wood has been remarkable for Leeds United this season.
Wood currently leads the way in the race for the Championship’s golden boot, after netting 22 goals over the course of the season so far.
The New Zealand international was forced to miss Leeds’ latest match against Fulham through injury, in what was a major blow for Garry Monk’s men.
Leeds still managed to pick up a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, which leaves them comfortably in the play off spots.
The Whites even have an outside chance of pushing for an automatic promotion place, but Nicholas does not believe that Leeds will be able to break into the top two.
“I don’t think they’ll do better, I think it will be the play-offs for them,” Nicholas said.
“Wood has been remarkable goal scoring wise. Lots of tap-ins, but he can score other types of goals.
“Garry Monk has done a fabulous job, but at the same time I think if you said to him right now ‘you’re going to be in the play-offs’, I think he would say ‘that’s a big achievement for Leeds’.”
Leeds are currently in fourth spot in the Championship table, and they have enjoyed a season which has surpassed expectations.
Leeds are currently eight points clear of seventh placed Fulham, and they would have to collapse between now and the end of the season to miss out on a play off spot.
The Whites are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road.
