Glasgow Rangers midfielder Josh Windass’ gesture to the Gers fans is played down by Charlie Nicholas.
Nicholas has also played down the controversial incident involving Rangers midfielder Josh Windass and the Gers’ fans earlier this week.
The 24-year-old scored a brilliant goal in the 39th minute against Partick Thistle on Tuesday evening, and he then put his finger to his lips apparently to shush the Rangers fans who had travelled to the Firhill Stadium for the Scottish Premiership game.
Former Celtic forward Nicholas has played down the incident, and has also suggested that Rangers fans should look at the positives at the club, not at the negatives.
Nicholas wrote in The Express: “There has also been a lot made of Josh Windass’ goal celebration at Partick Thistle. Why?
“He put his fingers to his mouth and told some Rangers fans to shut up. So what? Rangers have got bigger problems than that.
“They now have a banking facility, which is a step forward. Rangers supporters need to stop looking for negatives when there are so many positives around them.”
Does Charlie Nicholas have a point?
Windass has been inconsistent during his time at Rangers so far, although it must be said that he is playing well at the moment.
While one can understand the former Accrington Stanley star’s frustration, he should not have made the gesture, as he is only going to pile more pressure on himself.
Rangers fans are hugely demanding, and rightly so, and it will be a test of Windass’s character to get the fans on his side now.
