Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic need to sign another central defender, suggests Charlie Nicholas.

The Glasgow giants have secured the services of 32-year-old German defender Marvin Compper from German club RB Leipzig this month.
Former Celtic forward Nicholas believes that the Hoops should recruit another pacey centre-back this month.

The 56-year-old former Scotland international forward wrote in The Express: “And I think he needs to bring in a pacey central defender. They have signed Marvin Compper, but I’d like to see another join him.”
Celtic have a strong team and should be able to win the Scottish Premiership title with ease this season once again.
Brendan Rodgers’s side though, do need to reinforce their squad in order to progress further in the Europa League this season and qualify for the 2018-19 Champions League campaign.

Defence is the main area that the Hoops need to address, and manager Rodgers could well be looking to sign another centre-back to his squad before the January transfer window closes.
The problem that Celtic could face is that is that they could have too many centre-backs on their books by the time the January transfer window closes.
