Molineux will see Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Dean Smith’s Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has given his opinion on Wolverhampton Wanderers against Aston Villa in the Premier League and he feels that two Wolves players will prove “too much” against the Villa Park side on Sunday (Sky Sports News).
Nuno Espirito Santo’s charges into the Molineux game on the back of a 1-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Europa League and are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games, albeit with three consecutive draws from their last three league games.
Villa, meanwhile, beat Wolves in the League Cup last week but, the 5-1 win at Norwich aside, Villa have not had the best of times on the road, and will also be hoping to bounce back from two consecutive league defeats, even though they were against the division’s top two.
Nicholas feels that Dean Smith’s side struggles defensively and, given the danger of Diogo Jota when he “gets going” and the “movement and intelligence” of Raul Jimenez, they could prove too much for Villa, predicting Wolves to edge a 2-1 win at Molineux.
“It is a very good Sunday and this is a great derby,” Nicholas wrote on Sky Sports News. “Aston Villa are an open and expansive team. They played very well against Liverpool and should have got something from it.
“They cannot see and adapt to closing the shop. A draw would have been a good result – Villa deserved something from it, but they always make mistakes. I think the Wolves front two, especially when Diogo Jota gets going, will be too much. The movement and intelligence of Raul Jimenez makes him a great player, so I think they will edge it.”
