Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has impressed with his performances for France at Euro 2016.
Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that he believes Real Madrid could be tracking Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, following his performances at Euro 2016.
Lloris has captained France to the final of the international tournament, and he has pulled off a string of wonderful saves.
The Spurs stopper has been one of the host country’s best players, and Nicholas feels that Mauricio Pochettino’s side may well have to fend off big offers for the 29-year-old this summer.
“He has been first class,” Nicholas said. “There’s problems in their defensive set-up but he’s produced and rescued them when required. I wouldn’t be surprised if the likes of Real Madrid have been really looking at him.”
Real Madrid currently have Keylor Navas as their first choice ‘keeper, but they are constantly on the look out for impressive performers at international tournaments.
Lloris’ reputation has certainly improved at Euro 2016, meaning Tottenham are likely to have to field offers for the acrobatic goalkeeper.
Lloris has been a key player for Spurs ever since he moved to the White Hart Lane club from Lyon in 2012.
He is believed to be happy at Tottenham, especially after the North London side made it into the Champions League.
Lloris is set to start for France later this evening in the final of Euro 2016 against Portugal.
