Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has made a claim that the usual ‘moaning and groaning’ Newcastle fans were ‘very content’ during their 2-0 win against Burnley on Tuesday night.

Rafa Benitez’s side registered a comfortable three points against Sean Dyche’s men on home soil as they continued their march up the Premier League table.

Fabian Schar’s spectacular strike after 24 minutes opened the scoring before highly-rated youngster Sean Longstaff doubled his side’s lead before the break with his first league goal for the club.

Speaking to Soccer Special on Sky Sports News (26/02/2019 at 09:30 pm), former Arsenal striker, Nicholas offered his thoughts on what the Newcastle fans were like during their win.

“It has been a comfortable night for Newcastle,” Nicholas told Soccer Special. “You don’t often get comfortable nights here. Usually, they are moaning and groaning a little bit. But they are very content the fans.”

One of the main reasons behind the feel-good factor in and around Newcastle in recent weeks has been the arrival of January signing, Miguel Almiron.

The former MLS player had added some much-needed energy, attacking intent and a different dimension in the final third, which his teammates and fans are feeding off.

It has resulted in Benitez’s side winning back-to-back home matches as they are now climbing up the table at the right time of the season.

They are currently 13th in the table, seven points clear of the drop zone and five points behind 10th-placed West Ham as they will be potentially aiming for another top half finish.
