Charlie Mulgrew joined Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window after leaving Celtic.
Blackburn Rovers player Charlie Mulgrew has suggested to The Sunday Post that he could return to Celtic in the future.
Mulgrew, who is a versatile footballer and is able to operate as a centre-back, left-back or central midfielder, left the Scottish Premiership giants and joined Championship club Blackburn in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old started his professional club football career at Celtic Park and was on the books of the Hoops until 2006 when he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Following a spell at Aberdeen, Mulgrew returned to Celtic in 2010 and helped the Glasgow giants win the league title five times.
The Scotland international had injury problems during his second spell at Celtic and was always going to find it hard to play regularly under Brendan Rodgers, who was appointed the club’s manager in the summer of 2016.
Mulgrew has suggested that he is open to returning to Celtic in the future.

“I loved my time at Celtic,” Mulgrew told The Sunday Post. “I grew up a Celtic fan and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity given to me by the club to play for them.
“You never know what might happen in the future. Maybe I will play for them again. From my point of view, I’d never rule that out.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 20 matches.
The Hoops are 19 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Blackburn are currently third from bottom in the Championship table with 24 points from 26 matches.
