Steven Gerrard has a fairly large midfield at his disposal as a number of players may have to depart Rangers ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign.

Charlie Miller has tipped four Rangers players to head for the exit door this summer, as he questioned the futures of Greg Docherty, Jordan Rossiter, Graham Dorrans and youngster Ross McCrorie.
Whilst youngster McCrorie could move out on loan to develop his game, someone like Dorrans may need to find a new permanent club, with Miller suggesting that he has been ‘forgotten about’ after injury ruined his campaign last time out.
Steven Gerrard has a fairly big midfield going into the new Scottish Premiership campaign, and if a few players who can deploy midfield roles were to leave then it wouldn’t surprise anyone.
The Gers are currently in their pre-season training camp in Portugal with Jason Holt, Rossiter, who was out on loan last season, and Dorrans all left out of the camp that flew out.
Former Ibrox man Miller shared his thoughts on Rangers’ midfield and mentioned how Gerrard will need to address it before the season begins.
“I feel for him [McCrorie] because he never lets you down and maybe he might need to go on loan to get regular game time,” said Miller, as quoted by the Herald. “I think he will have to free up some cash by getting rid of a few or sending them out on loan.

“Greg Docherty and Jordan Rossiter both did well last season when they went down south. They will have benefitted from playing regular football every week. But, will there be a place for them next season?
“Dorrans is another player we have forgotten about. He has been unlucky with injury and if he is back to his best then I would definitely keep him.”
As Gerrard will be well aware, the midfield area is going to key to his team’s success next season, with January signing Glen Kamara impressing towards the back end of the last campaign.
But whilst he’ll be looking to trim his squad, the former Liverpool man will also want to add more quality to his starting XI and bench.
