Charlie Miller has predicted on Open Goal that Rangers will win the Scottish Premiership title this season, not Celtic.

Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership table last season, while Celtic won the league title yet again.

The Hoops have clinched the championship title for the past eight seasons, and Neil Lennon’s side will be favourites to make it nine in a row in 2019-20.

Former Rangers attacking midfielder Miller, though, has predicted Steven Gerrard’s side to beat Celtic to the league title next season.

Miller said on Open Goal: “I think Rangers will win the league this year. I don’t think Celtic have strengthened enough.”

Title race

Rangers pushed Celtic during the first half of last season, but Gerrard’s team struggled to maintain their momentum during the second half of the campaign.

The Gers have made a number of new additions to their squad, including Sheyi Ojo and Jordan Jones, and the Ibrox faithful will feel confident about the team giving the Hoops a run for their money next season.

Rangers will take on Kilmarnock away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, while Celtic will face St. Johnstone at Celtic Park on Saturday.
