Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have signed nine players this summer, but any more important than Graham Dorrans?
Charlie Miller has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Graham Dorrans will certainly add a bit of quality to Rangers this season.
The 30-year-old midfielder joined Rangers last week, a few days after their shock Europa League exit to Luxembourg outfit Progres Niederkorn.
Dorrans is the ninth summer signing by Gers boss Pedro Caixinha, but only the second Scot to arrive at Ibrox following Ryan Jack’s move from Aberdeen last month.
And Miller, who spent six years on the blue half of the Old Firm divide until 1999, believes that the former Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion will be a fit at his boyhood club.
“It is good to have a Rangers boy in there that knows what the club is all about and knows what the expectations are. I think he will be a good signing,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“He is a quality player and it is up to him now to go and express himself and show the fans what a good player he is and what he can do for Rangers. Hopefully he does well.
“Rangers have to do better than they did in Luxembourg and having a player like Dorrans in there will help.
“He has got a lot of football left in him so hopefully he can give a good account of himself and help Rangers have a good season.”
Their season has gotten off to a horrendous start following their Europa League disappointments.
But Caixinha’s side will get a lot better. If and when Rangers new boys gel, they could be a big force; perhaps not enough to challenge Celtic, who finished 39 points ahead of them in the Scottish Premiership last season, but finishing above Aberdeen and posing more of a threat to the Hoops is the goal this season.
