Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have hijacked Charlie Kane’s tweet to his brother, Harry.
Harry Kane scored in Spurs’ end-of-season 4-2 win away to Leicester City this evening to clinch the Golden Boot ahead of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
The Tottenham marksman finished the Premier League season on 23 goals, one ahead of the Liverpool star.
Kane’s brother – and agent – Charlie sent a congratulatory tweet to the 27-year-old hitman after the game.
But suffice to say that it wasn’t long before his mentions on Twitter were being blown up by desperate Lilywhites fans begging for the player to stay.
This is the end of a headline-grabbing week for both Kane boys, after it was reported that Harry was keen to leave the North London club during the summer transfer window.
Here’s how some Tottenham supporters responded to Charlie tonight:
So, is Kane staying? Well, probably not.
His mind was reportedly made up before this win over the Foxes, meaning that win, lose or draw, it wouldn’t have mattered any in regards to his future plans.
The truth is that Kane is probably the best number nine in world football and although he will like individual awards like the Golden Boot and so on, his heart will pine for much bigger honours and really, he probably isn’t going to win them at Spurs.
