Charlie Austin addresses ‘panic’ and explains why he isn’t playing on Twitter

The Queens Park Rangers striker has been linked with Newcastle United and West Ham but had a message for fans on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie Austin has allayed fears he is missing QPR’s latest fixture due to his future lying away from Loftus Road.

Indeed, Austin has been heavily linked with Newcastle United and West Ham United recently, as per the Daily Mail.

As such, the fact he is missing QPR’s friendly with Atalanta has made R’s fans ‘panic’ on Twitter.

But the reported Newcastle and West Ham target has told supporters not to worry, explaining that the real reason he has missed the game is simply due to the fact he has only trained twice so far this week.

The 26-year-old could be the most realistic option up front for both Newcastle and West Ham. The Magpies have already signed Aleksandar Mitrovic, while Steve McClaren denied on Saturday night that there has been any contact with QPR over a move for the forward.

West Ham, meanwhile, could be in greater need of Austin, with Andy Carroll and most recently Enner Valencia being ruled out for lengthy periods injured. The Austin saga has run all summer long but, for now, he remains a QPR player and doesn’t want R’s supporters to stress about his future…
