Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers reportedly wanted Stoke City’s Charlie Adam in the summer transfer window.

Adam started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2003 until 2009.
The Scotland international midfielder is now at Stoke in the Championship in England, having joined the Potters from Liverpool in the summer of 2012 for a transfer fee reported by The Independent to be worth £4 million.
The former Blackpool star has suggested that he would be open to returning to Rangers in the future if an opportunity arose.
The Scottish Sun quotes Adam as saying during a Q&A on Instagram when asked if he would like to come back to Rangers: “I would if the opportunity ever came up.”
Future Rangers return?
Adam is a very good midfielder who is going strong despite being in his early 30s, and the Stoke star would be a good signing for Rangers.
True, Adam is past his prime, but the Scotland international’s experience and quality would make him a good addition to Steven Gerrard’s side next summer or in the January transfer window.
Interestingly, Adam was linked with a move to Rangers in the summer transfer window, with The Telegraph claiming that the Gers had shown interest in the midfielder.
