Charlie Adam has a chance for another fresh start at Stoke City.

Charlie Adam has made no secret of his desire to return to Rangers, telling The Mail he is keen on a move.
The feeling does not currently appear to be mutual, with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard sanctioning four transfers already, with Adam not one of them.
One of the transfers was a loan deal for Steven Davis, another midfielder in his 30s, who would make Adam’s task harder at Ibrox.
Adam has made clear that his desire to quit Stoke City is based on a lack of playing time, after being selected to appear in only three Championship games as a substitute.
He now has a chance for another fresh start at Stoke, after manager Gary Rowett was fired.
Davis’ move to Rangers should have seen Adam start to give up on his Rangers dream.

Now he should really put it out of his mind, and focus on a new beginning at Stoke under a new boss.
If he can impress between now and the end of the season, then he may become a more attractive proposition for Rangers in the summer.
For now, the midfielder needs to capitalise on being able to start from scratch, unless his next manager tells him he is not required.
