Charlie Adam has urged Mousa Dembele to add more goals to his game.
Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has told BBC Radio Five Live that he thinks Tottenham will fall short in their pursuit of the Premier League title – but hailed midfielder Moussa Dembele.
Spurs came from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw away at Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, with Harry Kane’s second half penalty cancelling out Kevin Wimmer’s own goal.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be delighted to have taken a point, but it’s now seven games without a win for Tottenham, and they’ve scored just four times in that run, with three of those goals coming from penalties.

Spurs have drawn each of their last four Premier League games and subsequently remain as the only unbeaten Premier League team this season, but their run without a win means they are now five points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Having fallen short of winning Premier League title last season, many expected Spurs to be in the mix again this term, but their recent results mean that some pundits and fans are starting to question their title credentials.
Charlie Adam celebrates after scoring the first goal for Stoke
Now, Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has offered his view, and has told BBC Radio Five Live that he thinks Tottenham will ultimately fall short of winning the title again this season, despite being ‘very, very good’ in their 4-0 win over Adam’s Stoke side in September.
Adam thinks that Spurs will be contending for a Champions League place but won’t win the title, before calling on midfielder Moussa Dembele to start scoring more goals.
The Belgian powerhouse has scored just nine goals in 160 games for Spurs despite possessing incredible talent, and Adam suggested that if the the 29-year-old starts to score more goals, he will be ‘the complete midfielder’.

“They’re in with a shout,” said Adam. “They battered us 4-0 earlier in the season, and they were very very good, but the Premier League is the Premier League. It’s a tough league, and it can take it’s toll – not every game is as easy as you think. Obviously they’re in this run where they’ve drawn four, but they’ll be up there at the end of the season, chasing the Champions League, I just think they will fall short of trying to win the league.”
“I think Dembele has got to score more goals. For his ability and what he can bring to the team, he must add goals to his game. If he does that, he’ll be a hell of a player. He’s one of the toughest players I’ve played against, and I think he is a very good player, but if he can add goals, he’ll be on another level. He’s got power, he’s got pace, he can drive, he can dribble with it, he just needs to add the goals. If he can do that, then I would say he is the complete midfielder,” he added.
