The former Rangers midfielder, who is now on the books of Reading in the Championship in England, was impressed with the display produced by Christie in their Europa League Group E game against Lazio at Celtic Park on Thursday evening.
The 24-year-old Scotland international midfielder worked hard for Neil Lennon’s side, was brilliant going on the attack and also helped out in defence, and he scored midway through the second half as well.
Important player for Celtic
Christie has established himself as an important player for Celtic and is playing well for the Glasgow giants at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle star has scored six goals in eight Scottish Premiership appearances and has found the net twice in three Europa League games for the Hoops so far this season.
With Celtic aiming to win the domestic treble and also progress to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, Christie will have an important role to play for the Glasgow giants.
