Former Ibrox midfielder Charlie Adam started his career at Glasgow Rangers, and the Stoke City star played with the Gers’ managerial target Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool legend Gerrard is holding discussions with Rangers regarding the managerial role at the Gers.
Graeme Murty is no longer in charge of the Rangers first team, while Gerrard is currently managing the Liverpool Under-18 side.
Stoke midfielder Adam has warned the Rangers players that his former Liverpool teammate Gerrard will demand high standards from the players.

Adam told BBC Sport about Gerrard: “He is a leader. He expects a certain standard and if you are not at the standard he expects, it will be difficult for you as a player.
“He won’t take any messing, he will tell it as it is. I think that is what Rangers need. I think too many players are not at the level to be playing for Rangers, and if he does get in there, he has to change that and try to get the right players in.”

Open to Rangers return
Adam started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2003 until 2009.
The Scotland international midfielder played with Gerrard at Liverpool during the 2011-12 season before leaving for Stoke in the summer of 2012 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4 million.
The 32-year-old, who earns £35,000 per week as salary at Stoke according to Spotrac.com, has told BBC Sport that he is open to returning to Rangers in the summer transfer window.
Adam told BBC Sport: “I am never going to rule it out. It is the club I started at. They say ‘never go back’ but as a former player, it hurts to see Celtic dominating so much. You never know what is around the corner in this game.”
