Bannan has been rejuvenated at Sheffield Wednesday.
Exiled Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam has spoken highly of Sheffield Wednesday’s Barry Bannan in an interview with Talksport on Tuesday.

Adam, who plays for Premier League side Stoke City, was again left out of Gordon Strachan’s national team squad, with Scott Brown’s return coming as a further blow to the 30-year-old.
Celtic skipper Brown retired from international football earlier this year, but is back in Strachan’s plans ahead of Friday’s encounter with England following a u-turn.

Pondering how Brown might figure for the Scots at Wembley, Adam told Talksport: “Who’s he (Strachan) gonna drop? (Darren) Fletcher, who is captain? Or is he gonna drop Barry Bannan, who at this moment for me is our best technically, our best gifted footballer in the team?”
Adam and Bannan previously played together at Blackpool, with the former later moving on to Liverpool and then Stoke.
Bannan returned to parent club Aston Villa in 2010, before following Ian Holloway, his former Tangerines boss, to Crystal Palace three years later.
The 26-year-old arrived at Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2015 and helped the Owls to the Championship play-off final in his very first season at Hillsborough, earning him a place in the divisional team of the year and a return to Scotland’s plans.

Wednesday though, appear to be suffering a hangover from last season and currently sit 10th in the standings.
