West Ham United are said to be interested in signing Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, after watching him impress for the Glasgow side.

Charlie Adam has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 6th January, that he finds it strange that no English club decided to bid for Moussa Dembele last summer, and allowed him to move to Celtic.

Dembele has been in wonderful form since moving to the Bhoys, with the striker racking up 19 goals already this season.

The 20-year-old looks to be one of the most talented strikers to have played for Celtic in a number of years and his form has not gone unnoticed.

Dembele is now linked with a host of Premier League clubs, but Celtic have slapped a £30 million price tag on their star man (Daily Mail).

And Adam believes that English clubs missed a trick by not signing Dembele when his contract at Fulham ran out last summer.

“It’s strange that no English club took him,” Adam said. “He was a kid that was at Fulham and scored a lot of goals. To go to Scotland, Brendan obviously promised him the world and he’s played him.”

West Ham are believed to the club who are most interested in Dembele at this moment of time.

However, Adam cannot see Dembele leaving Celtic during the January transfer window.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” he added. “They are talking £30 million – that’s a lot of money to take someone from Scotland.”
