Soon to be departing Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has stated that he wants to ‘win titles’ after he was asked about a potential return to Rangers.

Championship side Stoke City confirmed on their official Twitter account that Adam will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News (01/05/2019 5:50 pm), Adam was asked about returning to Ibrox by Jim White and the 33-year-old issued this response.

“We have spoken many times Jim about Scotland,” Adam told Sky Sports News. “Until it was announced that I was going to leave, it’s very difficult to say where you are. You are only as good as your options and that’s how I see it.

“Everybody now knows that I am out of contract we’ll see what is presented to be in the summer and I’m looking forward to a new challenge. Wherever I go they know that I’ll be ready to fight and win. I want to win. Hopefully, it’s going to be a club that is going to win titles and challenge.”

There is no doubt that Steven Gerrard, who is set to finish as runner-up in the Scottish Premiership, will be aiming for the league title next season.

The former Liverpool man, who played with Adam when the Scotsman was at Anfield, will be looking to bring in quality players in order to take him to that next step.

He would have learnt a lot from this campaign and will no doubt back himself to go all the way next term because his team have shown big signs of improvements.

Midfielder Adam has barely featured for Stoke this season as they struggled to deal with their relegation from the Premier League during the previous campaign.
