Former Ibrox star Charlie Adam started his career at Glasgow Rangers, and the Stoke City midfielder played with the Gers’ managerial target Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.

Adam started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2003 until 2009.
The 32-year-old Scotland international midfielder played with Gerrard at Liverpool during the 2011-12 season before leaving for Stoke in the summer of 2012 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4 million.
According to BBC Sport, the former England international midfielder is on a shortlist to take over from current Ibrox manager Graeme Murty at the end of the season.
Former Rangers star Adam has suggested that Gerrard should take the Ibrox manager job.

Adam told The Scottish Sun about Gerrard: “My advice to him would be simple: Take it. Rangers is an amazing football club. Sure there are big pressures involved but that’s what big clubs are like.
“There’s no getting away from the size of the challenge ahead because Celtic are the dominant force at the moment.
“Brendan Rodgers has done a tremendous job in the last two years and keeps upping the ante. But I would urge Stevie to accept the job and go and jump into it two-footed.”
Meanwhile, former Rangers defender Graham Roberts has stated on social networking site Twitter that he would not mind Gerrard getting the managerial job at the Gers.

Box office appointment?
Gerrard is one of the best footballers of all time and is world-class, and appointing the former Liverpool star would be a blockbuster move for Rangers.
While it would be a risk for the Gers to appoint a 37-year-old with no prior experience of first-team football management, it could pay off big time with the right investment in the summer transfer window.
