Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino has told the Hampstead and Highgate Newspaper that he intends to make changes to his Tottenham Hotspur team when they take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
Spurs are due to face Villa on Sunday at White Hart Lane, and they will be the favourites to win the match.
However, Pochettino is eager to guard against fatigue after a busy Christmas schedule.
Tottenham were in action on Wednesday against Chelsea in a huge Premier League match, which they won 2-0.
And Pochettino admits that he will have to make changes to ensure that his team is fresh to face Villa.
“I don’t know how many changes there will be,” Pochettino said. “Not 11, but we cannot today have a clear idea. Tomorrow, sure, because we need to measure the levels of all the players properly – not only physically but mentally. Some players maybe need rest. We will mix maybe a little bit the starting XI from Chelsea with some players.”
Steve Bruce, meanwhile, has promised to play Villa’s strongest team at White Hart Lane.
The claret and blues are currently in mid-table in the Championship table, and head to White Hart Lane on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Cardiff City.
