Fernando Morientes has raved about Liverpool winger Luis Diaz in The Times, and believes that the Anfield star could be a problem for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday evening.

Morientes played for both Liverpool and Real Madrid, and the Spaniard believe sthat Diaz is a player “who changes dynamics”.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid will lock horns with each other in the final of the UEFA Champions League in Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Saturday evening.

Fernando Morientes on Luis Diaz for Liverpool v Real Madrid

Morientes told The Times: “We always think of [Mohamed] Salah or [Sadio] Mané because they are his two big stars, but Luis Díaz has joined them and he has fitted in wonderfully without needing time to adapt.

“He is a player who changes dynamics. Diogo Jota is also very interesting and we seem to have forgotten about Firmino, who is still a great player. The substitutes, whoever they are, will have an important role to play.”

Big player

In our view, Luis Diaz could be a big player for Liverpool against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

The Colombia international started against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup finals.

And Liverpool won both the matches.

Diaz, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are likely to be the front-three for Liverpool, who will head into the final against Madrid as slight favourites.

The 25-year-old has fitted into the Liverpool team seamlessly, and his pace, ability to run at defenders and work ethic have endeared him to the Anfield faithful.
