Sunderland picked up their first win under new manager Chris Coleman on Saturday afternoon, beating Burton Albion 2-0 away from home.
The Black Cats appointed Coleman last weekend, with the former Fulham man leaving his post as Wales manager in order to take over from Simon Grayson at the Stadium of Light.
Coleman opened with a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa in midweek, but took his side to face Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday afternoon – and came away with a vital three points.
After a closely-fought 85 minutes, James Vaughan pounced to put Sunderland in front, heading home a late opener, before Joel Asoro’s run and cross resulted in George Honeyman tucking home the second.
With Vaughan grabbing the opener and Asoro setting up the winner, it was Coleman’s attacking substitutes which won the game for Sunderland – and fans were particularly impressed with Asoro.
The Swedish forward, 18, joined Sunderland from Brommapojkarna in 2015, but was barely given a chance by Simon Grayson earlier this season, only to emerge as an impact substitute under Coleman in the last two games.

Fans took to Twitter during and after Saturday’s game to discuss Asoro’s impact as a late sub, suggesting he has huge potential and really changed the game with his pace.
Others noted that Coleman already seems to have taken a liking to Asoro, with fans impressed that he made an impact as a substitute for the second game in a row under the new Black Cats boss.
