Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Tim Sherwood has been discussing Harry Kane and the impact he could have on a number of clubs within the Premier League.
As we all know, Kane is one of the very best players in England, and Sherwood believes that he has the necessary ability to make any of the top teams in the league into title contenders.
Sherwood discussed the idea of Kane joining Liverpool and he reckons that the England captain could truly transform the Reds’ fortunes if he went to Anfield.
Kane could transform Liverpool
Sherwood spoke about Kane playing elsewhere.
“He could go to four or five Premier League teams and make them contenders for the Premier League straight away,” Sherwood said.
“I hope he doesn’t go to Manchester United,” The host replied.
“Well, he could go there, of course he could. He could go to United. He would change the fortunes of Liverpool, he would at Arsenal, which is not going to happen, Chelsea isn’t going to happen with his Tottenham ties. That one signing would put them as favourites to win the Premier League, the boy is incredible with what he’s achieved now,” Sherwood concluded.
Wouldn’t suit them
Kane is a very good footballer, but we have to question whether or not he’d actually suit this Liverpool team’s attack.
The Reds’ current frontline is largely built on quick transitions and pace. Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are three of the fastest players you’re likely to ever see, and Kane doesn’t quite fit into that mould.
Kane would, of course, improve most teams, but even though Liverpool have been poor this season, you have to wonder if he’d even get into Jurgen Klopp’s team.
