Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (11pm, January 19, 2023) that Tottenham Hotspur need to change Hugo Lloris and replace him with someone better.
The former Liverpool defender believes that Lloris is a “liability” for Tottenham now.
The Sky Sports pundit made the comments about the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Frenchman after the Premier League match between Manchester City and Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday evening.
Spurs lost 4-2 to the defending Premier League champions.
Lloris should have saved Manchester City’s third goal.
Riyad Mahrez found the back of the net with a low shot past the Frenchman at his near post.
Lloris was also at fault for one of the goals that Arsenal scored against Tottenham in the North London derby last weekend.

Jamie Carragher on Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris
Carragher said: “The goalkeeper at Tottenham right now has been a good goalkeeper for Tottenham, he has now become a liability. They need to change him. They need a new goalkeeper for next season.”
Time for a change?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur need to find a suitable successor to Hugo Lloris.
Yes, Lloris has been among the best goalkeepers in the Premier League over the years, but the Frenchman is making far too many mistakes now.
And he is 36 now.
Tottenham need to start looking at someone much younger, maybe in their mid to late 30s, to replace Lloris with.
Now, of course, it is going to be hard to sign a top-quality goalkeeper in the January transfer window, but Spurs have to start putting in the work now to get a deal done in the summer of 2023.
