Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur could miss out on the signing of Daniel James from Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United on summer transfer deadline day, according to The Times.
The Times have reported that Tottenham are interested in signing former Manchester United winger James from Premier League rivals Leeds.
Spurs have held talks with Leeds over the Wales international winger, according to the report, which has added that the 24-year-old is ‘likely to stay’ at Elland Road.

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur could still be able to sign Daniel James from Leeds United on the final day of the summer transfer window.
According to ESPN, Tottenham want to sign the former Swansea City winger on a loan deal with a possible option to make it permanent next summer.
Leeds reportedly want £20 million in transfer fee and a permanent sale now.
Now, Leeds are a big and established club, and there is no incentive for him to send James on loan.
Described as a player who “ is quick, direct and works hard” by Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta on the club’s official website in August 2021, James would be a good option to have for head coach Marsch if he stays.
So, if Tottenham are keen on the winger, then they have to pay the £20 million that Leeds want for him.
