Armin Gigovic has suggested that he is likely to stay for another year at Helsingborgs despite interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal, while speaking to Voetbal Nieuws.

The young midfielder is making a name for himself due to his impressive defensive talents. But the Sweden youth international showed his worth at the other end of the pitch during an Allsvenskan clash with Djurgarden this week.

It was Gigovic’s late equaliser that secured a point for Helsingborgs; his first career goal proving perfectly timed and adding a few more pennies to his growing price-tag.

But despite interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, the in-demand Scandinavian believes that he would benefit from staying at home before embarking on an adventure elsewhere.

“My focus is currently here in Sweden. I let my agent deal with the interest of other clubs. Chances are I will just stay with Helsingsborg,” says Gigovic.

Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht recently had a £1.7 million bid rejected, while BT in June claimed that Gigovic also finds himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between Mikel Arteta and his Manchester City mentor Pep Guardiola.

Futbol Direkt have linked Wolves with the young midfielder, too.

But it seems that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will have to wait as they look to lure another under-the-radar teenager to Molineux.
