Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba made his first appearance of 2017 last night.
Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba has posted on Twitter, after making his long awaited return to Rafael Benitez’s starting line-up against Burton Albion last night.
Mbemba was part of the Newcastle team which beat Burton 1-0 at St. James’ Park last night.
The Congolese defender put in a solid performance, and he reacted on Twitter after Newcastle registered the three points.
Mbemba was making his first appearance for Newcastle in 2017, with Benitez generally favouring other options.
And Newcastle fans were pleased to see Mbemba back in action again, with the 22-year-old receiving a lot of positive messages from supporters.
Mbemba was not the only Newcastle player to react on Twitter afterwards, as Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow also posted on the social media website.
Newcastle picked up their victory over Burton Albion thanks to a wonderful goal from Matt Ritchie.
The Magpies have now moved back to the top of the Championship table, with Benitez’s side closing in on promotion.
