Norwich City and Cardiff City are the big movers while Derby County and Aston Villa have both suffered disappointments.

Norwich City hammered Nottingham Forest 5-1 at the weekend to underline their status as the Championship’s most in form team.

In games played in 2017, the Canaries top the division, with five wins and one draw from seven matches.

Norwich’s form has lifted them to seventh place, just two points off the play-offs, with manager Alex Neil showing that the club were right to stick by him when their form wavered earlier in the campaign.

They are followed by Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City, with the Bluebirds earning a surprise 2-0 win away to Leeds United at the weekend.

The table does not look so great for Aston Villa supporters, despite the club’s heavy spending in the January transfer window.

They have lost five and drawn one of their six Championship games, while also exiting the FA Cup, and currently sit in 16th place in the league.

Gianfranco Zola’s Birmingham do not fare much better with only one win, but one of the notable teams to drop off are Steve McClaren’s Derby County.

The Rams were on a charge at the end of 2016 but their form has dropped off this year, although they sit in eight position and are still in with a shout of reaching the play-offs if they can get back on track.
