The Preston star believes his side can cause an upset at Elland Road.
Preston North End’s Tom Barkhuizen scores their first goal
Leeds United take on Preston North End in the Championship later today and do so knowing they need a win after two defeats on the bounce have them scrambling for their play-off position.
Preston are one of the teams among the chasing pack and can move to within just five points of the West Yorkshire side with a win at Elland Road.
Leeds will know that to get anything from the game they will need to keep the Championship Player of the Month for March quiet as well.
Winter signing Tom Barkhuizen has been in fine form for Preston. Speaking to the Lancashire Evening Post this week, the 23-year-old made it clear that he feels his side can earn the spoils at Elland Road this weekend:
“I’m sure our fans look at it and think we’ve had a good season whereas Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday, who’ve had a bit of a wobble, are looking at us and Fulham and even Derby, who have crept back into it.
“We’ve got nothing to lose, we can go for it in every game.
“We’re going to Leeds and there’ll be massive pressure on them to solidify their position in the top six but it wouldn’t surprise me if we go there and turn them over.”

Leeds will have a task on keeping Barkhuizen quiet. The former Morecambe player has scored five goals in his last six games and will be a huge threat for the traveling Lilywhites in this big Championship clash.
But Leeds have a fairly formidable striker of their own in Kiwi goal-machine Chris Wood – who they hope will lead them to a much needed win in the play-off chase.
