HITC Sport understands that Fulham and Ipswich Town are among those closely monitoring League Two’s 11-goal top scorer.
A host of Championship clubs are ready to make a move for the first man to hit double figures in English football this season, Jay Simpson, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a possible switch.
HITC Sport understands that whilst Leyton Orient would be loathed to lose their leading scorer, it would be difficult to resist an approach from a Championship outfit.
This comes after Orient made Simpson available during the summer, as his contract would be difficult for a League Two side to manage – following their relegation.
But now Simpson has a number of sides chasing his signature and could move on an initial loan, with a deal becoming permanent in January.
Milton Keynes Dons, Brentford, Fulham and Ipswich Town are believed to be among the clubs looking to land the 26-year-old former Arsenal forward.
Simpson has turned out in the second tier before, taking in a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers in 2009/10, before going on to spend three years with Hull City, which included another short-term stint at Millwall.
