Rangers ace Kenny Miller is out of contract at the end of the season.
Rangers’ Kenny Miller celebrates scoring
Huddersfield Town goalkeeping coach Nick Colgan has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks plenty of clubs will be interested in signing Kenny Miller, should Rangers decide not to offer him a new deal.
Miller, 37, hit 21 goals in all competitions last season as Rangers won promotion back to the top flight, but given his advancing years and the signings of Joe Dodoo and Joe Garner last summer, many wondered just how important Miler would be this term.
However, the veteran striker has not only played 40 games this season, but he has also notched 11 goals, with his brace in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday another reminder of his quality.
Miller’s contract expires at the end of the season, and new Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha must now decide whether to keep the striker at Ibrox, or bring an end to his third spell as a Rangers player.
Miller’s experience is vital to a young Rangers squad, whilst he is showing that he still has enough quality to make a real impact in the side, whether up front or in a wider role.
Now, Miller’s former Hibernian team-mate Nick Colgan has commented on the striker’s future, suggesting to The Scottish Sun that clubs will be eyeing moves for Miller should Rangers decide not to offer him a new deal.
Former goalkeeper Colgan, who currently serves as a goalkeeping coach for Championship club Huddersfield Town, believes that it’s guaranteed that Miller will have offers elsewhere, though reuniting with Colgan at Huddersfield looks somewhat unlikely.

Colgan noted that Miller is a big game player, a man for the big occasion – and having scored goals throughout his career, Colgan believes Miller still has plenty to offer even as he approaches 38.
“Players who score goals in big games are priceless and Kenny’s done that since he was a teenager,” said Colgan. “He still has a few years left in his career but he will be remembered in Scottish football as a striker who was very good at his job. The bigger the game, Kenny always seems to deliver. He’s done that through the years for every club he has been at. “
“On Sunday, Rangers needed someone to step up and make the difference against Aberdeen. Kenny is 37 now but he was the man who took on the responsibility, just like he did for Hibs all those years ago. He’s a credit to his profession and I don’t look at him and think he’s winding down his career. If Rangers don’t offer him a new contract, you can guarantee that there will be plenty of clubs out there trying to sign him. Kenny would be an asset to any club. At his age he might not start every game, but as he’s shown for Rangers this season, he’s still a man for the big occasion,” he added.
