Tottenham Hotspur should consider the Champions League winner.
According to Calciomercato, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing out-of-favour Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in January.
With Tottenham Hotspur not exactly boasting stellar alternatives to Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino should throw his hat in the ring and move for the 30-year-old.
Kane’s importance to Tottenham was underlined earlier in the season when the 23-year-old missed six weeks through injury and Vincent Janssen and Son Heung-min both failed to step up to the plate in regards to scoring goals.

Son, in his defence, did well initially but his form tailed off, whereas Janssen, a £18 million signing from AZ Alkmaar, is looking more like a waste of money each time that he pulls on the Spurs shirt.
Another injury to the England hitman and Tottenham are up the creek without a paddle. Pochettino needs a quality alternative and Mandzukic offers that.
Simply put, the Croatia international is a goalscorer who has done well in Germany, Spain and Italy, though Gonzalo Higuain’s talismanic form has seen him settle for a bit-part role with Juve this season.

But that’s very much a reflection on Higuain – who has scored 13 goals in 17 starts this season – rather than Mandzukic. Tottenham fans would not need to worry about his age either.
At 30, he is no spring chicken, but the only facet of his game which will be majorly affected by the aging process is speed and pace was never one of his strengths. It was never a big reason why he was such a prolific goalscorer. He is much more of a poacher and it will take a while before his advancing years makes him less of a nuisance in and around the six-yard box.
But can he do it in England? That remains to be seen, but what we do know is that he has scored against Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in the past three years.
When Kane isn’t at the races, Tottenham badly need a plan-b option they can rely on and Mandzukic might well be the perfect candidate to fulfill that role.
