Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Empoli youngster Fabiano Parisi, with Leeds United also hot on the tail for the 22-year-old left-back ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have set their sights on the Serie A talent as a replacement for Robin Gosens, with the UEFA Champions League giants keen to improve on the left-back position as the Nerazzurri look to claim a top-four finish.
As per the report, Fulham’s Antonee Robinson is also a target for Inter. However, Parisi’s profile, age and homegrown status have made the Empoli prodigy a more ideal target in January for the Serie A side, with Leeds also interested in signing the recent Italian international.
TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that the Whites are keen on signing the £10m-rated Parisi, with Jesse Marsch also eager to improve on the left-back position for the second-half of the season. And whilst there has been rival interest in the defender from the likes of OGC Nice, Inter is another threat entirely.

Indeed, the Italian giants have the reputation to beat any club in Europe to any player, and whilst Leeds might have Premier League football on their side, Inter’s stature and recent success make the Champions League regulars big rivals for the Whites in the race to sign Parisi.
Nevertheless, Leeds will still feel confident in their attempts to land Parisi in January. Though with Inter now in the race, there’s no telling how far the San Siro side will push their new Yorkshire opponents in the battle to sign the Empoli superstar in the winter window.
Leeds signing Parisi feels impossible with Inter now interested

Marsch is aware that Leeds’ Premier League safety could be defied by the business the American does in the January transfer window, which is why Inter’s interest in signing Parisi feels like such a blow for the Whites given how big an opposition the Serie A giants are.
After all, left-back has been a problem area for Inter for quite some time, and Parisi feels like such an ideal fit for the Italian side in January, much to the dismay of Leeds, who could soon miss out on a major transfer target after months of rumours and speculation.
