Daniel Mann praised Leeds United fans for sticking by their team despite their 3-0 defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday night, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

The Sky commentator added that if Leeds performed, on the pitch, as their fans do in the stands, then they would be ‘challenging at the very top’.

But, unfortunately for the Yorkshire side, it’s not the case, as they sit in the Premier League’s relegation zone on goal difference.

Burnley, who aren’t playing in midweek, now have a game in hand on Leeds, as well as currently being above them in the table.

It’s not looking good for Jesse Marsch and his players, as Mann praised the Elland Road faithful against Chelsea.

“Well, if Leeds were performing as well on the pitch as their supporters do in the stands,” said Mann.

“Then, they would be challenging at the very top end.

“But, in terms of the way this performance and this night has gone for them, it is at this point, quite difficult to see them producing against an in-form team like Brighton. There has to be a sea change.”

Whether it’s Marsch or Marcelo Bielsa, one thing that doesn’t seem to go away are the number of goals Leeds are conceding.

As things stand, they are heading back to the Championship, unless they can get something from their final two matches.

In-form Brighton will visit Yorkshire at the weekend, before a final day trip to Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

Whilst Leeds have been pretty awful, it’s not like their relegation rivals are any better because they are also struggling, so it might just be a final day fight for Marsch and his players.
